Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Surf Shack Global website and booking platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Surf Shack Global. The following payment terms apply to all reservations:

• A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
• The remaining balance is charged 7 days before your scheduled arrival date.
• For bookings made within 7 days of arrival, the full amount is due at the time of booking.
• We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfer for stays exceeding 7 nights.
• All prices are listed and charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
• Instant booking confirmation is sent to your email upon successful payment.

• Free cancellation up to 7 days before your scheduled arrival — full refund issued.
• 50% refund for cancellations made between 3 and 7 days before arrival.
• No refund for cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival, or for no-shows.
• Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
• Surf Shack Global reserves the right to review cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis in extenuating circumstances.

• Check-in: from 2:00 PM on the day of arrival. Early check-in may be available on request.
• Check-out: by 10:00 AM on the day of departure. Late check-out may be available on request.
• Check-in is fully digital. You will receive a unique access code via SMS and email 2 hours before your arrival time.
• Please respect check-out times to allow our team to prepare the shack for the next guest.

All guests agree to the following:

• No smoking is permitted inside any shack. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available at each site.
• A noise curfew of 10:00 PM applies at all locations. Please be respectful of neighbouring properties, hosts, and the coastal environment.
• Each shack accommodates a maximum of 2 guests unless pre-arranged and confirmed in writing by Surf Shack Global.
• Guests must treat the shack, its contents, and the surrounding environment with respect and care.
• Guests are responsible for securing personal belongings. Surf Shack Global is not liable for lost or stolen items.
• Surfing, swimming, and all water-based activities are undertaken at the guest's own risk. Conditions can change rapidly — always check local forecasts and surf within your ability.

• Guests are fully liable for any damage caused to the shack or its contents during their stay, beyond reasonable wear and tear.
• A security bond may be applied at Surf Shack Global's discretion. Where applicable, this will be clearly communicated prior to booking confirmation.
• Any damage must be reported immediately to Surf Shack Global. Costs for repair or replacement will be charged to the guest.
• Surf Shack Global is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during your stay, including during surf or water-based activities.

Surf Shack Global shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to: severe weather events, natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes, pandemics, government restrictions, or any other event of force majeure. In such circumstances, we will work with guests to reschedule bookings where possible or provide refunds at our discretion.

All content, branding, trademarks, logos, photography, written copy, and design elements displayed on the Surf Shack Global website and platform are the exclusive property of Surf Shack Global Limited. This includes but is not limited to the name "Surf Shack Global," the surf shack icon, all website copy, and all original photography. No part of this website or its content may be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Surf Shack Global Limited.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
